Hidroplasto opens PVC granules factory. Hidroplasto last month opened a 345,000 Euro PVC granules factory in Botosani, located in the Hidroplasto Logistic Center. "The decision to invest in this kind of factory comes in response to demand from our German partner, Besagroup, which uses this kind of granules in over 80 per cent of its production," Catalin Silegeanu, general manager of Hidroplasto, told The Diplomat - Bucharest.
It plans to collect about 3,600 tonnes of PVC waste per year from sheathed cables, rigid and medium-hard PVC pipes in order to produce PVC granules. "Hidroplasto now has 27 suppliers to buy waste from and it will continue signing contracts until the maximum quantities needed are reached," added Silegeanu. "The budget for the construction, supplying and acquisition of materials was provided by our own sources." The new factory will generate more than 75 jobs by March 2013, and almost triple the current turnover. "Last year, our turnover was about 780,000 Euro and due to this operational factory it will reach almost 2.1 million Euro," said Silegeanu. "As for future plans, we will build another storage area in 2013 with a 1,000-sqm capacity."As a member of the German corporation Besagroup, Hidroplasto has been active on the Romanian market since 2007 in furniture and the automotive industry, mining, double glazing windows and doors manufacturing, PVC profiles delivery and sewage installations manufacturing.
